Location: Pearlfisher London

As a globally-renowned agency, we feel that we have a duty to find and nurture young talent in our industry. An internship at Pearlfisher will build on an individual’s raw talent and skill, developing and diversifying the skillset of the intern through support and guidance, the opportunity to work on live projects and becoming immersed in the creative hub of our London studio. For interns from outside of the UK, the experience will also be invaluable in terms of understanding a more global approach to design.

Pearlfisher Client Management:

At Pearlfisher, typically a client team will be headed up by a Client Director, supported by different levels of client managers appropriate to the revenue that client brings into the business and the number of corresponding projects, the size and value of which can vary dramatically.

You will most likely be working with all of Client Management, and not one specific client team, for maximum exposure to this way of working, though every effort would be made so that you would follow a good number of projects from beginning to end. Therefore, you could be working alongside Client Executives, Client Managers, Senior Client Managers, Client Directors and the Strategic Development Director, depending on the client and project requirements.

You will also be expected to collaborate with all other internal teams throughout the project process.

This role requires the highest level of:

Common sense / Communication skills / Attention to detail / Enthusiasm

You will show us that you have:

An exceptional eye for detail.

Natural communication skills and a pro-active, common-sense approach.

A keen interest in branding and design.

A collaborative, supportive and constructive working style, which can connect at all levels within the Pearlfisher business and externally.

The bare minimum we need from you is:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Some previous work experience in a relevant field.
  • Student or other awards would be a bonus.

And the technical skills we’d appreciate are:

  • A good understanding of MacOS
  • Strong PPT, Word and Excel skills
  • In-depth experience of Google apps/G Suite

The role in detail

The role of Client Management Intern encompasses the following:

  • Exposure to all facets of a global design agency including liaison with and some input into Strategy, Futures and Design
  • Shadowing the key members of the Client Management team and learning how to, for example: write briefs and present to the relevant team; participate in creative reviews (having a voice); plan and develop a project appropriately
  • Supporting the Client Management team in an administrative capacity, including: working with them to draw up quotes and manage budgets; diary management and team co-ordination; planning of timelines and schedules; helping with research to support Strategy, Futures and Design as required; working with clients and internal teams to ensure that all information and required materials are provided in a timely manner and in the correct formats
  • Working on a variety of projects including a big ‘Tier 1' client and also some more niche projects – which will give you exposure to different types of clients and their set-ups
  • Becoming client facing in time (in calls and face-to-face meetings as and when appropriate)

You will also be expected to cover concierge duties during lunchtimes/absence (shared with other members of the team as required). This will give you an opportunity to meet and greet internal and external personnel and to become more familiar with the day-to-day running of a busy agency.

Review process

Your position will be reviewed every 3-4 weeks. This will give us and you the opportunity to ensure that you are fulfilling the role to our expectations, and that the role is developing for you in the correct way.

The level of involvement and active input that you will be responsible for, and the associated timeline, is very much in your hands. If you can prove yourself as a capable and proactive individual, you will be given more responsibilities more quickly. The above outline is not exhaustive and there will often be additional requests from the team or clients that you will be expected to carry out.
