A pivotal role that involves managing innovative campaigns to enhance our brand's awareness and driving more engagement through strategic media, publication, and event partnerships.
We need you to
Manage our China-focused digital presence, leveraging social media expertise, particularly WeChat, and implementing effective marketing strategies. You'll coordinate with our media partners within China, and nurture essential media relationships to amplify our brand at key events.
Be the driving force of our brand awareness and engagement within in China, identifying and developing strategic opportunities with potential media, publications, and event bodies within China.
Maintain our China website and Chinese social media accounts, while providing support for our Chinese-simplified content, including case studies and thought leadership articles.

Proficient in managing social media platforms, with a preference for those experienced with WeChat official accounts.
Proven expertise in writing and communication skills.
A track record of developing and implementing successful strategic marketing plans with measurable results.
Cultural knowledge of design and brands in the China market.
Strong research and data analysis capabilities.
Acumen and understanding of the content that resonates and engages with our key target audience.
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop, to enable you to create social media assets.
The minimum we need from you is:
One year of experience in marketing or public relations, specifically within a branding and design context. This may include internships, placements, or full-time roles.
A relevant academic background, ideally a bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a related field. Alternatively, you should be able to demonstrate additional years of work experience in a directly comparable role.
Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English.
A true passion for design and branding.
A proactive, innovative and original approach to problem-solving.
It would be beneficial if you could show us that you have:
Previous experience coordinating with design award organisations and managing award submissions in China.
Evidence of cultivating a comprehensive list of media contacts, enhancing our presence at brand design awards, conferences, and speaking engagements in China.
A deep understanding of the design and branding industry in the Chinese market.
A marketing degree from business school would be ideal.
Proven success with initiatives to drive improvement, achieve breakthroughs, and uphold excellence.
The role in detail
Translate and transcribe content, including case studies, leadership thought pieces and news, from English to Chinese with precision and professionalism.
By conducting market research and furthering your deep cultural understanding, propose content topics that would engage our target audience.
Help to develop a content strategy for China with the guidance of your line manager.
ii. Social media & digital profile
Be fully responsible for our social media platforms and digital presence within China, ensuring our latest work is regularly updated to enhance awareness and showcase our expertise.
Maintain our China website, including regular updates on work launches and SEO optimisation to improve our visibility within China.
With support and guidance from your line manager, create and develop a social media strategy to increase our brand awareness and brand prestige within China,
Create and cultivate a comprehensive media list of relevant Chinese media and publications to foster partnership relationships for Pearlfisher.
iii. Awards & Events
Manage and coordinate our design awards entries within China & APAC, translating the awards entry copy from English to Chinese and collaborating with designers. Communicate confidently with award organisations.
Coordinate Pearlfisher’s involvement in key Chinese events, providing support with materials such as research, copywriting, packaging samples, and communications.
Explore additional noteworthy awards or brand design events that Pearlfisher should consider attending in China.
iv. General support
Provide general support for various administrative tasks related to China, including diary management and team coordination; planning timelines and schedules; and assisting with research to support Strategy, Futures, and Design departments as needed.
